Treading the mountain path,
The violets fill my heart
With indefinable gracefulness.
Basho walks with violets,
violets, then, fill the heart.
Gracefulness meets gracefulness,
for violets, Basho, the path, ... sharing.
The Way is relational, reciprocity;
heart with heart is one Heart.
Others walk the same path,
not seeing violets.
Some walk the same path,
seeing violets as only violets.
These walk, both unseeing,
and with unfilled heart.
For Basho, no separation,
though difference.
For the wise ones, violets
are not only violets ~
the moon more than what appears in the sky.

Welcoming the Communion,
is Life being-with Life.
So, when I walk a path with snow,
snow is not merely snow,
snow is not it.
Basho knows violets are not its,
even as Basho is not it.
Each thing is a being,
for being.
An it is not being,
so not a being,
so one cannot find an it.
Its could not fellowship together,
while all is Sharing.

"In the beginning God created..."
means Life gives birth to Life,
means Being gives birth to being;
so everything being is Life, a being.
Being cannot create non-being,
a non-it, or the ultimate non-It, form an it
out of its non-itness.
So, being is being-with,
for being is inter-being,
each arising only together.
If we fail to see this,
we miss being filled with the grace of violets;
we miss what the violets are prepared to give us.
In a world living,
one sees oneself as one thread in this tapestry alive.
How can that one not be filled, to overflowing?

So, Basho welcomes spontaneously,
for he knows spontaneously.
This is not theory, not for Basho.
Basho is not looking at violets intellectually,
intellectualizing about violets.
He does not think about oneness.
Lovers become Love,
so abandon to Love-Making,
so are filled with Love, yes overflowing.
Oneness arises, right there, with the violets.
This being filled retains 'Basho' and 'violets,'
the ten-thousand things, as the Taoists say,
expresses the Tao, or Way, even as
the Tao, or Way,
expresses the ten-thousand things ~
one instrument playing with all others,
is one instrument with all the others;
is all others, or playing-with would not happen.
So, what is your face before your face?
Your face.

All 'Bashos' and all 'violets'
arise together, in this one moment.
Where from?
Right here.
When did any 'Basho' and any 'violet' begin?
Right now.

How shall one welcome violets
as violets and
more than violets and
not violets?

One way to work with the Way, is to allow awareness to open, invite into awareness the entire field of everything. Relax concentration, which narrows attention. In concentration, one is shutting out almost the entire field. Rather, here, openness, spaciousness, is key. Yes, a dance can, then, go on between things and everything. No need to struggle with this movement; one learns, indeed, how the dance can become within openness, openness present with non-openness, a welcoming of not-welcoming. And, when openness closes down, gently allow the spaciousness to return. Openness, welcome, and spaciousness mean the same thing, here. Then, one senses the whole field of being~together, happening~together. This can be practiced in formal meditation or outside it. This is a natural, liberating way of being, this is to invite Communion, a sharing in which one meets gracefulness with gracefulness, for Full-of-Grace arises when living in harmony with the Way.
in surrender to the Way
the Way teaches the Way ~
that simple!
